Blue Fescue (Festuca Glauca)
Blue Fescue is a clumping ornamental grass that holds up even through the heat of summer.
Hardy and adaptable; tolerates drought. Semi-evergreen. Blue Fescue is the best small ornamental grass. Its fine texture is appreciated in both Asian gardens and the drought-resistant landscape. Most often planted near rock gardens, around landscape boulders and in dry stream beds. Does equally well as a formal edging plant or in a mass for groundcover effect.
Average landscape size: Fast growing, dense foliage mound; reaches 8 to 12 in. tall and wide. Dramatic silvery-blue color, easy care, fast growing, water wise, tolerates urban pollution.
Full Sun, low water (once established only occasional watering).
USDA Zone 4-11, Good as an accent or in borders, firescaping, urban garden, wildlife garden, containers, mass plantings, rock gardens.
