Cassa Blue Flax Lily (Dianella Caerulea)
Cassa Blue Flax Lily (Dianella Cassa Blue) - Use this instead of all those new grasses, many of which are very invasive. Tough and drought tolerant, with blue-green, grasslike leaves, to provide texture and contrast in your garden, without lots of hassle. Also available in variegated green and white. An extremely versatile and easy care dwarf selection with lush blue-green foliage and small violet flower clusters followed by attractive purple berries. Slow growing and clump-forming; doesn't spread widely by rhizomes. An excellent mass planting or border in front of shrubs. Hardy and adaptable, tolerates salt spray and drought. Evergreen.
Average landscape size:Erect foliage clumps reach 1½ to 2 ft. tall, slowly spreading as wide.
Full Sun, low water (once established only occasional watering).
USDA Zone 7-11, Good in borders, near the coast, containers, mass plantings, rock gardens.
